So many problems with concrete driveways come from the de-icer used by the city and homeowners. These additives are highly corrosive and if not washed off asap they’ll continue to eat away at the surface of your driveway, and even below the surface.
The best protection is to start with an annual HOT water, high-pressure wash using a concrete cleaner designed for our conditions then, once it’s dry, seal the concrete with a penetrating concrete sealer. Wash every year and seal at least every 2-3 years.
There are no “repair” solutions that will last longer than a few years, at best they are band-aids that will only delay your driveway replacement by a few seasons.
Exposed aggregate, colored, and stamped concrete is particularly susceptible to salt damage, and water leaking into tiny pores in concrete, especially in spring with our freeze-thaw cycles.
